Toxocara infection

Testing is often initiated following the finding of marked and/or persistent eosinophilia in a patient with an unexplained illness. Toxocara antibodies . Tissue biopsy may identify larvae, but biopsies are seldom diagnostic.

Diagnosis suggested by retinal examination and supported by detection of toxocara antibodies.
