| Application | Investigation of alloimmune thrombocytopenia, especially neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia and post-transfusion purpura. |
| Interpretation | Indicates the presence or absence of specific platelet antigens. Platelets which lack the specific antigen are selected for platelet transfusion in alloimmune thrombocytopenia, if required. Very specialised area - consult pathologist. |
