Application

Suspected autoimmune hepatitis.

Interpretation

A titre of >160 in adults or >40 in children occurs in a proportion of patients with autoimmune hepatitis.

Lower titres are relatively non-specific and may be found in viral infections (eg, infectious mononucleosis, viral hepatitis) and in neoplasia.
