|Specimen||24 hour urine collection with HCl as preservative.|
| Reference Interval||10-40 mmol/24 hours (varies with intake and plasma phosphate).|
|Application||Only occasionally indicated to identify phosphaturia in hypophosphataemic states.|
|Interpretation||High PTH levels and renal tubular disorders will result in relatively increased phosphate excretion.|
