Determination of fetal lung maturity, usually as an adjunct to lecithin/sphingomyelin ratio.
Phosphatidyl glycerol production commences at about the time lung maturity develops.
It may be more reliable for the assessment of fetal maturity in diabetic pregnancies than the lecithin/sphingomyelin ratio.
