Immunoassay.

Reference Interval

α GST: <10 µg/L.

Application

Elevation of the α GST isoenzyme provides an indication of renal damage (especially rejection of a transplanted kidney) or hepatic parenchymal damage.

Elevation of the p GST isoenzyme is an indicator of biliary tract damage especially in association with rejection of a transplanted liver.

Interpretation

Elevation of the appropriate GST isoenzyme provides an early sensitive indicator of organ damage particularly rejection of a transplanted organ.
